I was introduced to yoga in 2009, when I was looking for the best way to improve my physical well-being and get rid of the discomfort of a long sedentary job. As I continued to practise regularly, I discovered yoga as a powerful tool for improving physical well-being and maintaining energy balance. With regular practice, I felt the change not only on a physical level. Yoga is a way for me to feel, understand myself, and therefore to have more harmonious relationships with others.

As yoga had become an integral part of my daily life, the next logical step was to study at the Baltic Yoga School Gundega in 2011, where I also gained important knowledge and my first yoga teacher certificate. After graduating from the yoga school, I continue to regularly improve my knowledge both in Latvia and abroad. In 2012, I had the great opportunity to learn about the world's popular Jivamukti Yoga, and since then I knew I wanted to learn this unique, holistic yoga method. 2016 I completed the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training in New York with the founders of this method, Sharon Gannon and David Life.

I consider one of my main tasks as a yoga teacher to be to show how the original and valuable teachings of yoga can be transferred to a modern environment and integrated into everyday life . I hope that by sharing my knowledge and experience I can in some way uplift the daily life also for others.

I agree with the statement that yoga is a path through the self to the self.

Everyone is made up of several bodies - physical, mental, emotional and others. In this life, the physical body and its health are of great importance.

Taking care of your body is an integral part of self-love. The practice of yoga asana is a great way to take care of your body, its well-being and its needs. Yoga asanas are designed to improve not only the functioning of the physical body, but also the flow of energy within you.

Through yoga practice I want to teach people mindfulness, to feel their body, their desires and needs, to release tension caused by emotions and stress. I want to show how a seemingly simple but regular yoga practice can increase well-being and improve quality of life. When the body is in alignment, all energies flow freely, one feels better and becomes more emotionally stable.

The yoga practice can be adapted to each person's needs and preferences. And at the same time, you don't need anything to practise yoga, because everything you need to practise is already there.

I myself started yoga at a time when I was exhausted and tired, but at the same time felt a great need for physical practice. I immediately started a regular yoga practice and fell in love with what I had gained through yoga. I soon realised that I wanted to learn more about it. This passion is growing in me every year.

Yoga for pregnant women, yoga for mothers with babies, yoga for children

From a very young age, I have been in constant motion - dance and sport have been with me all my life. I took my first yoga class at the age of seven, when my father took me with him to the yoga classes he was attending at the time.

Later, I started to take various sports classes until I found yoga again. I realised how good it made me feel - I felt the positive energy and peace within me. I also felt a change in my perception of life and my outlook on things and what was going on around me. And I became more and more fascinated by these feelings, until I realised that I wanted to learn yoga in more depth and bring these feelings to others.

I started my yoga teaching journey 7 years ago when I decided to teach yoga to children, thanks to my son. Over time, I have taught classes to yogis of all levels. And four years ago, when I was expecting my daughter, I started teaching yoga to expectant mothers. When my daughter was born, I wanted to get back to movement sooner and that's how I came to Yoga for Moms with Babies, which in 3 years has brought together a large group of yogis. I also teach yoga to families, which is a wonderful way to spend time together in this hectic everyday life.

I have realised that it is the teaching of all these classes that brings me joy: the children who always bring joy and fill the room with positive energy and laughter; the expectant mothers, these classes are filled with warmth and love; the classes with babies - movement, joy and happiness; and family yoga - warmth, togetherness and love. I feel grateful to have found my true yoga path!

My yoga journey started when there was hardly any yoga in Riga. It was taught by brave people without the right knowledge, and I realised that this was wrong.

Now I believe that the freedom to enjoy life depends on our long-term health. For me, yoga is first about stress resistance training, and then everything else. By learning to manage the way we breathe, we gain a key tool that allows us to be effective in challenging situations off the yoga mat.

If I had to choose only one way to take care of myself, it would definitely be yoga. A balanced yoga practice helps us to tune out the agitation we accumulate in our daily lives and to make friends with our bodies as they are now, making us more flexible, stronger and more resilient.

I started doing yoga in 2005, following a method developed by Vivekananda Yoga Centre. The initial impulse was regular jogging, after which I wanted to loosen up my muscles. Regular yoga practice became my source of energy and peace. I learnt Hatha Yoga at the Baltic Yoga School "Gundega" and attended seminars and workshops ("Yoga 108"; "Vikasa Yoga"). Additional knowledge about human anatomy, physiology was acquired by studying physiotherapy at LASE. I have been teaching yoga since 2014. I have taught classes for youth and adult basketball teams, as well as for running enthusiasts. Morning meditation has become an integral part of my day.

Having practiced yoga for years, I have found it to be a great way to release everyday overworked muscles, strengthen deep muscles, reduce the risk of injury, improve coordination, especially useful for those who do sports on a daily basis. These are not the only benefits.Yoga improves blood circulation throughout the body and strengthens the heart. It promotes lymphatic circulation and therefore strengthens immunity. During the class, the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems are alternately activated, so that our nervous system "settles" and we can cope more easily with everyday stressful situations. In everyday life, concentration and memory increase. Regular yoga practice gives you control over your body, mind and emotions.

I invite you to take time for yourself to practice yoga. The philosophy and practice of yoga is a continuous path of improvement and a step towards a better version of yourself. It is a method of self-discovery, not an exercise in strength and power.

Everyone is completely different, not only in their physical abilities, but also in their character, so you need an individual approach - motivating, teaching, encouraging. That's what I want to achieve in my classes - to give information to everyone, but adapt it to each individual.

There are countless forms of physical activity in the world, so I believe that everyone can find something that suits them. It could be dancing, walking or Pilates."

I've always been sporty and active, but when I became a mum, I realised I wasn't doing enough. As life changed, so did my values. In 2018, I was introduced to yoga.

When I lived in Berlin, I started to learn it from books. From the beginning, I was fascinated by it - both the physical exercises and the philosophy. I felt that I had found a life lesson that fitted my values. .

For me, yoga is about coming back to myself. To feel myself, to listen and accept myself as I am here and now. To be able to change and adapt without losing my essence and values. Yoga is very diverse and I believe that each one of us is capable of practising and loving it. The important thing is to find the right yoga style and teacher for you.
